Welcome to the final step in our transformative chakra journey. Over the past weeks, we've travelled through the energy centres of grounding, flow, personal power, love, expression, and intuition. Now, we arrive at the seventh and most expansive chakra—the Crown Chakra, our gateway to higher consciousness and spiritual connection.
As your guide at Circle Yoga, I’m deeply grateful to have shared this journey with you. The path through the chakras offers a profound way to reconnect with yourself—and now, with something greater than yourself.
The Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara in Sanskrit (meaning “thousand-petalled”), is located at the crown of the head. It is associated with the colours violet or white, and represents pure consciousness, divine connection, and spiritual enlightenment.
Unlike the other chakras, the Crown Chakra is not bound by the material world—it connects you to universal energy, infinite wisdom, and your highest self. It is the energy centre through which we experience unity with all things.
When the Sahasrara is open and aligned, you may experience:
A sense of deep inner peace and stillness
Trust in the universe and your place within it
Awareness that goes beyond the individual ego
Connection to spiritual purpose or divine insight
Moments of transcendence or blissful clarity
When this energy centre is blocked or underactive, it may feel as though something essential is missing. Signs can include:
A sense of isolation or disconnection
Difficulty finding meaning or direction
Close-mindedness or rigid thinking
Spiritual confusion or apathy
Lack of inspiration or feeling “cut off” from life
This practice is designed to be soft, still, and expansive—inviting you into presence and surrender. We focus on gentle inversions, seated meditation, and conscious breathwork to quiet the mind and awaken the soul.
Crown-Activating Poses
Supported Headstand (Sirsasana) – When practised safely, this pose reverses energy flow and draws awareness to the crown
Lotus Pose (Padmasana) – Encourages a meditative state and spiritual openness
Corpse Pose (Savasana) – Allows for integration, deep stillness, and connection beyond the body
Seated Meditation – Centre yourself with awareness at the crown, and allow energy to rise naturally
Approach these poses with mindfulness and humility—this is not a place of striving, but of surrender.
To keep this energy flowing off the mat, integrate these holistic practices into your daily life:
Embrace Stillness and Silence
Spend time each day in quiet contemplation or meditation. You may wish to explore practices like sound healing, chanting, or simply observing the breath in silence. Create a sacred space where you can return to presence.
Lighten the Body and Mind
The Crown Chakra thrives on lightness. Try intermittent fasting, cleansing herbal teas, or reducing sensory overload with a digital detox. These practices help create space for clarity and expanded awareness.
Connect with the Sky
Spend time under open skies, whether you're cloud gazing, watching stars, or sitting beneath a full moon. The crown energy resonates with the vastness of the sky—open, infinite, and still.
Use these affirmations to align with your higher self and invite wisdom from beyond:
“I am one with all of life.”
“Divine wisdom flows through me.”
“I am open to the mystery of the universe.”
“I trust in the flow of existence.”
The Crown Chakra is not something to “achieve” but to allow. As you move into this space of stillness and surrender, remember that true spiritual connection begins not with effort, but with openness.
At Circle Yoga, our practices honour the sacredness of the present moment, offering you tools not only to balance your energy, but to live with deeper meaning, joy, and purpose.
Thank you for walking this path with me—from the roots of the earth to the vastness of the cosmos. May your journey continue with light, clarity, and deep inner peace.
With divine love and stillness,
Elizabeth
